Our Mission

Empowering Scientific Discovery

Quantum Oasis was founded with a clear purpose: to democratize access to high-performance computing resources for academic research. We believe that computational power should not be the limiting factor in scientific advancement.

Our mission is to provide researchers with the computing infrastructure they need to tackle the most challenging problems in science, from climate modeling to drug discovery, without the prohibitive costs and technical barriers typically associated with high-performance computing.

Foundation principles

Sustainable Innovation

We are committed to proving that cutting-edge computing and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. Our facilities are powered by 100% renewable energy sources, and we continuously optimize our systems for maximum energy efficiency.

By demonstrating that high-performance computing can be both powerful and sustainable, we hope to set new standards for the industry and contribute to a greener future for technology.

Environmental commitment

Our History

Quantum Oasis was established in 2021 by a team of former academic researchers and HPC specialists who recognized a critical gap in the research infrastructure landscape: affordable access to high-performance computing resources specifically designed for academic workloads.

Having experienced firsthand the challenges of securing computational resources for research projects, our founders set out to create a service tailored to the unique needs of scientific computing – one that would combine technical excellence with an understanding of academic workflows and funding structures.

Starting with a modest cluster in Riga, we quickly expanded our capacity as demand grew. Today, we operate one of the most advanced research computing facilities in the Baltic region, serving universities and research institutions across Northern Europe.

Grant-Friendly Infrastructure

Understanding the constraints of academic funding cycles, we've designed our entire business model to align with research grant structures. Our transparent pricing, flexible reservation options, and detailed reporting make it easy to include our resources in grant applications.

We work with university grants offices to streamline the procurement process, ensuring researchers can access the computational power they need without administrative hurdles.

Academic integration

Knowledge Exchange Platform

Quantum Oasis serves as a hub for knowledge exchange between computational experts and domain scientists. Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects, we facilitate cross-disciplinary insights that drive innovation.

Our team of data scientists provides regular training sessions on optimizing research workflows, helping researchers make the most effective use of high-performance computing resources.

Environmental Responsibility

Sustainable data center with living green walls

At Quantum Oasis, environmental responsibility is not an afterthought – it's a core principle that guides all aspects of our operations. We believe that advancing scientific research should not come at the expense of our planet's health.

Our data centers are designed from the ground up with sustainability in mind, featuring advanced cooling systems that minimize water usage and maximize energy efficiency. Through careful optimization of our infrastructure, we've achieved a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) ratio of 1.15 – significantly better than the industry average.

We source 100% of our electricity from renewable sources, primarily wind and hydroelectric power from Latvia's robust renewable energy infrastructure. Any carbon emissions we can't eliminate directly are offset through verified carbon capture projects.

By demonstrating that high-performance computing can be both powerful and sustainable, we hope to inspire a shift toward greener practices throughout the research computing ecosystem.
